These are dense, heavy speakers, not hollow, particle board cheapies. The drivers' motor structures/magnets are premium and heavy.

From Pioneer's high-end "ELITE" brand: This listing is for two (2) pairs of Pioneer ELITE SP-EBS73-LR three-way (with concentric-drivers) stand-mount monitors and one (1) Pioneer ELITE SP-EC73 (SINGLE) three-way (with concentric drivers) center-channel speaker: a total of five (5) loudspeakers. The standmount monitors contain separate, up-firing, two-way, Dolby-Atmos-enabled concentric drivers, in their own sealed sub-enclosures, for a 5. 4, nine (9) channel system.

It's really like having nine separate loudspeakers. There is no subwoofer included.

These exquisite, upscale, audiophile home theater speakers--from legendary, "rock star speaker designer" Andrew Jones (of Pioneer, TAD, KEF, Infinity, ELAC, MoFi fame)--are in absolutely mint condition: No damage or blemishes to the cabinets, and zero rips, holes or tears in the grilles. They come in the original boxes, with owner's manuals, protective bags, original accessories i. Everything they came with and in, originally--nothing is missing or damaged. I take care of my nice things!

Of course, pristine models usually are being kept by their happy, thrilled owners. In fact, these speakers have been in their boxes for years--I used them for awhile at my old place, and have intended to use them in the master bedroom system in the new house I bought early in the pandemic. However, I've never gotten around to setting them up, mostly due to unexpected space constraints. In fact, my instincts tell me to keep them, even now... In fact, I currently use these same model speakers all around (plus another pair for rear surrounds) in my main 7.1.4 projector-based, home theater system, and have ZERO desire to upgrade, EVER first time that's ever happened! You will love them, too. At this price, and even given inflation, they're a steal. In this inflationary economy, you would have to at least double the price to find a comparable USED system--if you even could. Also, here's a hint: use them, as I do, with an SVS subwoofer! Caveats: All sales are FINAL. Items are subject to prior sale on other platforms, or locally. Items are not from a totally smoke-free or pet-free home. NOTE: These high-end loudspeakers perform at a level that hugely belies the low price of this listing.

Despite the price, these are NOT "budget" loudspeakers: For satisfactory results, these speakers MUST be driven by equally, very high-quality, amplifiers--capable of providing high-current into 4-ohm loads, all channels driven. Please see the specifications at the bottom of this page, noting the low impedence and low sensitivity... Cheap, budget, entry-level receivers likely will NOT suffice--certainly not at, or even approaching, reference theater volume levels. I have driven them in the past satisfactorily from an Onkyo TX-RZ830 9-channel receiver.

The current new model in the same chassis is the Onkyo TX-RZ50. Note that I use outboard separate power amps for all channels, currently, with the TX-RZ830 used only as a preamplifier/processor.

The performance of these speakers in my current setup is simply stunning, with both power and finesse for all genres of music and film. There simply are no compromises with my system..

Along with their forward-firing drivers, each speaker features a built-in two-way driver on top of the cabinet. These drivers are angled facing up and feature controlled dispersion, so they can reflect sound off of your ceiling and back down to your listening position. And by using identical drivers for both the top and front positions, the SP-EBS73-LRs achieve an exceptionally seamless, multi-dimensional space that puts you inside the action.

The Elite CST driver places its tweeter at the center of its midrange cone for maximum clarity. Conventional speaker designs typically place the tweeter and midrange in different locations on their front baffles. This physical separation means the sound from each driver reaches our ears at slightly different times, creating an effect that can smear subtle details and reduce intelligibility.

Pioneer's Elite bookshelf speakers take a different approach. The key to the SP-EBS73-LR's clear, detailed sound is its CST (Coherent Source Transducer) Concentric Driver.

This sophisticated design starts by placing a 1" soft dome tweeter directly in the center of a 4" aluminum cone midrange. Aligning the tweeter and midrange in the same axial and vertical plane ensures that all of the frequencies arrive at your ears at precisely the same instant. This eliminates timing distortion to provide more coherent sound.

To further enhance clarity, the CST driver combines a horn-shaped ring around the tweeter plus a specially curved midrange cone. Together, they create a smooth, continuous surface that acts as a waveguide, precisely controlling sound directivity into the room. This dramatically reduces interference between the midrange and tweeter for seamlessly integrated mids and highs.

The SP-EBS73LRs use a long-throw 5-1/4 aluminum cone woofer to supply tight, articulate bass that blends in precisely with the CSTdriver. The woofer's integral aluminum dust cap adds to the driver's stiffness, reducing cone breakup for greater accuracy.
